Hi, I’m Jeffrey.
I started JCY Consulting because I’ve seen firsthand how much small arts and nonprofit organizations are expected to accomplish with limited time, limited staff, and limited resources.
You have a mission you believe in. You’re creating meaningful work. But somewhere between programming, fundraising, communications, events, and everything else on your plate, you’re also expected to figure out your website, social media, email marketing, SEO, analytics, content strategy, and whatever new digital platform appeared last week.
That’s where I come in.
And yes—you may be thinking, “Wait, it’s just one person?”
Yep. It’s me.
I intentionally focus on working with small but mighty organizations that are making a big impact. You don’t necessarily need another agency handing you a massive strategy deck. Sometimes you need someone who will listen, understand what you’re trying to accomplish, look at what’s actually working, and help you build a realistic strategy you can use.
I bring more than 15 years of experience across digital media, music, arts and culture, public media, and nonprofit organizations. My work has taken me from creating digital content for Minnesota Public Radio and YourClassical, to leading digital media strategy at the American Composers Forum, to developing and producing music programming at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
Along the way, I’ve worked with artists, composers, curators, journalists, marketers, nonprofit leaders, and creative teams. I’ve built content strategies, managed campaigns and budgets, studied audience data, developed digital communities, produced stories, and helped organizations figure out how to connect the work they care about with the people they want to reach.
I’m also a musicologist, which shapes the way I approach this work. I’m interested not only in how we reach audiences, but in what we say when we reach them—and why it matters. Strategy, storytelling, history, culture, and audience are connected.
That’s what makes JCY Consulting a little different.
I can dig into your analytics and digital strategy, help you rethink how your organization tells its story, or bring musicological research and programming expertise to a project. My goal isn’t to give you more work. It’s to help you make sense of the work you’re already doing and identify practical ways to make it stronger.
Because good digital strategy shouldn't be reserved for organizations with enormous marketing departments.
Sometimes, a small organization with a powerful mission just needs the right strategy—and someone in its corner.
That’s why I’m here.
Let’s figure out what’s possible.
